Yearly Examination, Testing,
and
Treatment of Medical Conditions

A yearly or pre-operative exam may help you discover and treat problems that can delay surgery. If you are on a plan that covers
exam and/or lab by other physicians or if you plan to have surgery soon after
your first visit, have the
following done by your physician. Please have the results sent to Dr.
Martin.
 |
Pap Smear |
 |
Cervical Culture and Sensitivity |
 |
Cervical Chlamydia |
There are other tests that may be useful for you. These are not required.
They can be discussed with your physician. Those include:
 |
Blood Count -
A blood count is routinely done the day of surgery at no additional
charge. Testing before the day of surgery is to look for unexpected anemia that could
result in canceled surgery. This is particularly important if you are
coming from out of town. |
 |
Sperm Count -
A sperm count is encouraged, particularly for men who have not had children. |
 |
Obstetrical
Panel - A prenatal panel is usually done during pregnancy to look for
problems that can complicate a pregnancy. These can be considered
before you are pregnant. These are covered and linked at
www.fpnotebook.com/OB71.htm. |
